What happens during a consultation?

This is a complimentary 15 minutes with Cecilia, either over the phone or on a virtual platform. It's a quick get-to-know-you and to hear what you're looking for in a provider. There are no strings attached. If after the 15 minutes you feel it's a good fit, Cecilia will schedule you in for an intake which is typically 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions range from 30-50 minutes.

03

How often and how much?

Consistency is key, but so is sustainability. Sometimes therapy is weekly, biweekly, or monthly. This depends on the person and their situation. Cecilia accepts private pay and is credentialed with a number of insurances including Aetna, Optus (UBH, UMR, and All Savers). In the future she hopes to accept BCBS. She continues to panel with as many insurances as she can.

If Cecilia in out-of-network please still consider the 15 minute consult to explore options.  Some insurances provide partial reimbursement with a 'superbill' and may be worth investigating.

What is EMDR anyway???

EMDR stands for Eye-Movement Desensitization and Processing. It is a therapy model that historically has helped individuals process and work through trauma. The uniqueness of EMDR focuses on processing memories with Adaptive Information Processing (AIP). A person can reprocess a memory without having to talk about the trauma and the brain is able to overcome the distress of the memory.
